That was pretty killer. System Of A Down really came to mind at first but yeah, even in the world of prog rock this was pretty original. It's really cleanly played too. I like it.

It's funny you mentioned them, 'cos I was thinking of Korn instead. :D
Thank you,

It's not bad. For what I hear it's not particularly substantial, even if it had drums. There's no particular hook but saying that, it could be a good building block for something more. The glockenspiel/music box sound has some very high frequencies in there and while they don't hurt the ears they are audible and mess with the brain a bit. EQ and reduce the treble and it would be better.

Like I said above, I compose on FL studio, and not having any sound production/engineering knowledge I do fall short in that I can't really fix any of the problems you've just described.

Thanks for the review. :)

Hey, that was pretty smooth. It has a cool atmosphere but I couldn't really pick up on much tune on first listen. But hey, maybe that's just jazz for ya. It sounds like it was played live so if that's the case then props to you. I couldn't tell you if it's a characteristic of the style but the amount of grace notes you play actually got on my nerves as it went on.

JacketFunk responds:

Haha my apologies man, I think that's just a flaw in my particular playing style, I tend to rely far too heavily on grace notes. I'm glad you liked it though dude.

It sounds like 'To Be Continued' music for a Christmas pantomime. It's..... Quirky.

Hey dude, that was pretty cool. Same as what the other guys said, it doesn't really sound like a boss theme to me but it would still be a cool and funky level theme.

HOLY CRAP ITS BIGGY LET ME LOVE YOU

Hey there, that was pretty good. The first thing that came to mind was while the 'reverse pad'-like thing at the start was cool and set the atmosphere well, as soon as the rest of the song came it was too forward in the mix and drowned out the other elements a bit, which could have done with being a bit more front. When it gets to the chorus (around 00:40 I mean) The pad sound seems to be a bit too 'offset', starting too late and carrying on too far into the next bar. Not that everything has to be locked to a grid but it leaves the harmony a bit ambiguous (or even a bit thin) when the guitars come in, which can actually make it sound a bit confusing.

Those are my main points, everything else is cool as a cucumber. It's a good track with good atmosphere, a kind of Coldplay/Jimmy Eat World kind of vibe to it. I can certainly imagine a vocal over this. Overall, good job.

RichardBatchelor responds:

Cool as a cucumber. I like it lol :)

Thanks for the positive vibes, plenty more music to come :)
